April 8th, 2010 - Please note that this review is a supplement to the embedded video.
Some of you may have heard that Algoriddim has released an app for the iPhone and iPod Touch called Remote. The $5 app uses wifi to connect to your Mac and control djay. You must already own djay for your computer to use Remote as the app is not a standalone DJ solution; it's a wireless way to control the software.

March 25th, 2010 - I've written about Hobnox's AudioTool before, a browser-based app that allows you to play around with emulations of drum machines, synths, and the ToneMatrix (a Monome-esque grid sequencer). At the time, it was fun toy to play around with, but I found it hard to create anything meaningful.
The new Firestarter has changed up the formula a fair bit. Now, along with a much improved interface and snappier performance, Audiotool Firestarter has added multiple tracks which is a big ... Read More

March 8th, 2010 - These days if you aren't promoting yourself on sites like Facebook or Twitter, you're losing out on a huge amount of potential fans that could stumble on you and promote your music to their friends. November 25th, 2009 - First off, sorry about the delay in getting this post up. I actually had the videos ready to go Monday night, but the company I host my websites on, suffered a massive crash. Alright, now that's out of the way...let's get to the review!
Ok, let's dive right into this review (if you missed the unboxing, you can read it here). See that picture up above? That's the Vestax Spin, and it's sitting in a custom steel case that ... Read More

November 4th, 2009 - Ever since I moved to the OSX platform, I've used iTunes. Sure, I dabbled with Songbird for a quick minute, but at the time it wasn't mature enough to complete with iTunes. I've stuck with iTunes over the years because I like the way I'm able to organize and tag music. Sure, other software does it similarly but the competitors haven't been leap-years ahead enough to make me switch.
I also, and feel free to call me crazy, ... Read More

June 2nd, 2009 - As I've discussed previously, I am a Logic Studio (formerly Logic Pro) user. With all the choices out there, I thought I'd touch on why I use it, and what I perceive to be its strengths and weaknesses. Through an examination of its features, I'll also discuss why I don't exclusively use Logic.
My history with recording music goes back a decade and a half ago. I, like many young wannabe musicians, was in a band ... Read More

April 18th, 2009 - To celebrate one of the few sunny days in a long time, I've decided to hole up in my dark basement and make some music. Since my Korg Triton is out of commission with a power supply issue I was unable to fix last weekend, I decided to play around with Hobnox's AudioTool.
AudioTool is a little music playground built in Flash (so if you want to play around in it, you'll need to have Flash installed). It includes ... Read More
