February 9th, 2010 – Today, I’ve been sitting around trying to brainstorm song ideas by listening to other music. As I analyze songs for structure and production, these visualizations by graphic designer Mike Deal came to mind. The one shown above illustrates the composition credit of songs performed by the Beatles. In an ongoing Beatles project, Mike creates visualizations based upon topics such as their working schedule, self-referencing lyrics, and song keys. They look pretty amazing. Check out his site for more graphs.
