December 21st, 2009 – If you’re a fan of indie or dance music, then you must visit Hype Machine. If you aren’t, why not? Hype Machine has introduced me to more new music than anywhere else. As a dance music fan, it’s a great place to find unofficial remixes, and mashups.
One of the best groups actively targeting Hype Machine are The White Panda. Consisting of Americans Tom Evans (aka Procrast) and Dan Griffith (aka DJ Griffi), The White Panda has been releasing music since the beginning of this year. I first encountered them through Ice Chrome Paint Job which is a remix of Chromeo, one of my favorite groups.
While many of their remixes could be considered to be Electro oriented, there are also remixes that fall outside that genre. Check out their website; their remixes are available for free download through Mediafire. If you like what you hear, vote them up on Hype Machine. They also have a mix tape set for release next Monday, so keep an eye out for it.
