November 9th, 2009 – If you don’t regularly visit Home Studio Corner, you should. Joe posts some very good free video and text instructionals on engineering concepts like parallel processing, and compression. HSC Production Club is Joe’s first paid course and registration opens today.
HSC Production Club is a course that walks you through the whole process of recording, mixing and mastering Joe’s songs through video instruction. Unlike many other courses online, the classes are live. This means that you are in a real classroom setting with Joe, able to ask him questions as he’s teaching. The course is 12 weeks but you can pay by month if you’d like, instead of buying the whole course.
It costs $39 USD per month which, to put it in perspective, is over 50 times less than what I paid for tuition per month to learn essentially the same thing. I wish stuff like this had been around when I was learning because it would have meant more money to go out and buy good gear. If you’re interested, check out this post where he explains the course.
Normally I wouldn’t post about about paid courses like this and I should say that I’m not being paid to say all these nice things, I really think that Joe’s course is worthwhile. Not only is he knowledgeable, he’s also a cool guy to boot.
