July 14, 2009 – In collaboration with Yamaha, Fabien Cappello has created a typewriter that plays notes at the same time. While it may look like a classic typewriter, the contacts and mechanisms have been completely rebuilt. Ever wondered what the Twilight series would sound like if typed out? Probably terrible, just like the series itself.
Kidding aside, this is a pretty cool and beautifully crafted instrument. It would definitely be a worthy addition to the studio. There’s a video embedded below so you can hear how it sounds. Now if only they made a synth version. Tinkerers start your tinkering!
