Seth Sandler's Audiotouch

June 1st, 2009 – Have you ever watched CNN and marveled at their massive multi-touch displays? Have you ever thought about the technology that underpinned it? Well there’s no better way to learn than by doing.

Seth Sandler, creator of Audiotouch (shown in the picture above and embedded in the video below) and other multi-touch projects, will have plans for the Audiotouch on his website for the intrepid DIYer. The total cost? About $200. Currently, he has the instructions for putting together the MTmini, a mini multi-touch pad.

What makes the Audiotouch cool, is that it has its own OS that houses a variety of small audio apps. These apps are toys meant to show off the interface, but you could easily see how the Audiotouch might be leveraged by a performing and/or recording artist. It would be great to use it to control Logic, Protools or Ableton Live.
