June 21st, 2009 – From the Instructables user who brought us the Skittles coloured DIY Simple Sequencer, comes the Robot Voice Modulator. Unlike the synth, this modulator has quite a few extras. It includes a vibrato function, a pitch shifter, and the best part: an audio input jack. This means that you can input any audio sound source you want, effect it and record the output. Or, you can use the built in microphone if you’re into that sort of thing.

The wiring and assembly looks pretty straight forward. But, as with all DIY gear, the enclosure looks to be the difficult part. This particular project uses an Ikea plastic clock as the casing, but to enclose the innards, you use a piece of mylar. Randofo has access to a laser cutter to make perfect cuts, but if you don’t, your case may look decidedly less slick. Regardless, it’s a cool mod for a lazy Sunday.
