June 16th, 2009 – Instructable user randofo has instructions up for creating your own 8-step synthesizer sequencer. For each of the eight events, you can set the note pitch, the duration, and the space between each note.
The instructions for making the core of the device seem easy enough, but creating the casing is the difficult part. Honestly, how many of us have access to a laser cutter? I could only wish I did! Just like with the Monome/Arduinome/PICnome, building the enclosure is the difficult part.
There’s a sound sample on the Instructable page linked below. Sounds pretty funky. Oh, and sorry if you thought that it was a sequencer made out of actual Skittles. Wait, that’s a good idea…don’t steal it! Patent pending!
