January 20th, 2009 -In collaboration with TrackItDown.net, Capcom is running a Street Fighter IV remix contest to celebrate the launch of the new game. If you’re into video games at all, you’ll remember Street Fighter II, the grandfather of all fighting games. I know I spent the better part of a decade playing that game.
I must admit, I don’t get the chance to play video games much these days, but this new game looks pretty slick. I’m really digging the cell-animated look of it. If you want it, you could buy it, along with either a PS3 or an Xbox360, or you could be one of four winners of the remix contest and get an Xbox360 and game for free. Even if you don’t win, you’ll certainly get a kick out of using the Street Fighter sound effects in a song. It’s like late 90′s rave music! Sign up for an account on TrackItDown, and download the pack. If you don’t do the contest, at least you have the sound effects in lossless format. The remix contest ends on February 9th, which is pretty darn soon. Get on it!
