January 22nd, 2009 – I was poking around Vimeo today when I stumbled across a video by Daniel Skoglund. In it, he has two devices that read graphite that is drawn on the device itself. Judging by the precision with which both devices syncronize musically with each other, I assume that he has a partner in the performance. I’m not sure if the “graphite sequencers”, as he refers to them, run via electrical resistance like the Drawdio, or if there’s a photo sensitive receptor on the pivoting head, but it’s a pretty cool device for a live performance.

This performance is built up out of two sessions which i just put on top of each other.
When i perform live i usually have several graphite sequencers running at the same time, but i wasn´t satisfied with the picture quality of such a recording.

@daniel skoglund : You performed this piece in two separate sessions? They synced really well!
