December 13th, 2008 – I love robots, but it didn’t always used to be that way. When I was a toddler, I used to like going behind the TV to pull out all the cords. To deter me, my mom put this Mickey Mouse toy that was transparent (so you could see the colourful gears inside) back there. I was terrified of it, and this stopped me from ruining the family’s “Three’s Company” marathons.

Fast forward to today, and I find myself lusting after such toys as Thingamagoop and its DIY sibling Thingamakit. But today, my RSS feeds delivered me an adorable robot, the Lil’ Drum and Bass Bot. For about 50 dollars worth of parts, Calculon320 was able to create a robot that plays drums on a little pill bottle to music that is outputed from an onboard synth. Singing and playing drums simultaneously? It’s the Eagles all over again!
