November 14th, 2008 – There are so few causes that I can get behind these days; I’m just so conflicted with my Gen-Y sensibilities. A cause I can really get behind, though, is handmade instruments. Not only do they look cool, but you can get some totally unique sounds that are somewhat exclusive.
You might make your own instruments, or support the little guy (or gal) behind the scenes that is innovating in his spare bedroom. Take Michael Una’s Beep-It as an example. While I’m sure optical theremins are not a new idea, making your own with such simple components and shoving them into a petri dish probably is.
