September 20th, 2008 – Ok, the Stanton DaScratch has been posted by so many blogs that I feel obligated to fit in with the big boys (Gizmodo, Engadget, CreateDigitalMusic, etc). It’s a MIDI DJ controller that can augment your digital DJ setup.

What’s that you say? There are tonnes of DJ MIDI controllers out there, what makes this one special? Well it has touchpads that you can set up and trigger as well as flashy LEDs all over the place. Apparently you can scratch with the circular pad as well. The videos I’ve seen on Youtube are pretty impressive. While you certainly wouldn’t use it as your primary DJ controller, supplemented with real turntables and time-coded vinyl, it increases your flexibility by quite a bit.
