September 15th, 2008 – Numark is releasing the Omni Control which they bill as featuring “a professional digital-audio interface to feed your headphones and the sound system”. Essentially, this all-in-one solution allows you to ditch your external soundcard when DJing sets outside of your bedroom. It has audio inputs and outputs for monitoring and sending to a PA. It looks pretty beefy with its metal housing, but if you look carefully in the picture, the upper left fader seems to be askew. Was this an error in rendering? Or is that a picture of a production unit that was faulty? Maybe my eyes are just playing tricks on me from that angle?

I’m planning on buying a midi keyboard, any suggestions on what I should get?

Try the M-Audio line of MIDI controllers. They are reasonably priced and have a decent feature set. I have a Korg Triton Pro X 88 from back when they weighed over a hundred pounds. Great piano action though.
