August 7th, 2008 – Patents have surfaced that show Apple’s plans for touchscreen DJ software. Whether the software is for the iPhone or the rumoured Macbook Touch, all that is known is that some developers are being blocked from releasing DJ-type applications on the iPhone. That might be due to Apple wanting a lock on all potential music software for its “music” devices, or because it plans to release its own surprise software. After checking out the above graphic and perusing the patent application, it seems like they’re proposing something very close to Serato Scratch Live, but with touchscreens instead of record players.
