Skip the MIDI controller completely?

July 22nd, 2008 – Ok, so this isn’t entirely music related, but there are rumours that the new Macbook Touch is coming out in October. For all of you who haven’t heard the hype, the Macbook Touch is supposed to be a Macbook tablet with a multi-touch display. When you take it out on the road, you don’t need a keyboard because you’re to be able to “type” on the screen itself. While it’s certainly an exciting piece of kit, the exciting thing is the possibility that you will be able to “play” on a keyboard directly on the screen. This means you could travel without bringing your MIDI controller; it would be built in. This is all conjecture at this point, but check out the sweet mock-up of how it may look based upon the rumours. Would you be willing to pay the premium for such a device?
