July 16th, 2008 -The divide between video games and the real world just got smaller. With the announcement of the expanded instruments in the upcoming Rockband 2, Alesis has released a “premium” drum kit. The Drum Rocker is a velocity sensitive drumkit for Rockband 2 that can also be used as a standalone electronic drumkit provided you use an Alesis drum machine. The price is $300 which is somewhat reasonable for what it is. I’m waiting for someone to hack it into a straight up USB controller.

    EXCITING! I’m sure someone will figure it out very quickly.
    Seems like a pretty good price if you can use it for drumming outside of Rockband!
